Dr Jo, also known as Joanne Earl, is a PhD registered psychologist specializing in the non-financial aspects of retirement planning and retirement adjustment. Dr Jo provides both individual and organisational services aimed at navigating the complexities of retirement planning. In this video, she speaks with Anne Fuchs from Australian Retirement Trust about her research.

Many individuals struggle with retirement planning and adjustment to retirement. For some, it comes naturally, while for others not so much. As a psychologist, Dr. Jo understands these complexities and aims to guide you through the non-financial aspects of retirement. The evidence-based holistic model she uses focuses on building health, social, cognitive, emotional and planning resources.
Are you feeling uncertain about your cognition? Changes to cognition at older age are not as common as you might think. While at a younger age, we might brush off a temporary cognitive slip, but as we age, we may wrongly self-diagnose. We might imagine there is a problem when there is really not. I can help you explore concerns about cognitive changes and guide you toward appropriate next steps if needed.
Dr. Jo, also known as Joanne Earl, can assist organizations in developing bespoke, evidence-based resources that can be owned by your organization, particularly in the areas of retirement adjustment and retirement planning.
We design and deliver targeted evidence-based training for specific audiences and objectives to assist in retirement adjustment and effective retirement planning. These can be one hour workshops or presentations to 3 day workshops. Keep an eye out for courses for practitioners offered through the Mental Health Training for Professionals | 600+ CPD Courses | Mental Health Academy coming soon.
Dr Jo is available to supervise students on placements leading to general registration or Registrars in Organisational Psychology on a fees basis. Sessions are on-line and last 50 minutes.
I have a patented design for a Magnetic Hearing Earring. A device used to help keep a hearing aid intact without the hassle of changing earrings every time. I designed it because I was tired of losing my hearing aid every time I changes my glasses and worried about losing my hearing aid while on holidays. Not much help using your hearing aid locator app if your hearing aid is in a Tahiti gift shop and you are on your way to Hawaii!
